@Nestingwithgrace’s LASIK story

Brooke Christen, also known as @nestingwithgrace, underwent LASIK at Waite Vision. Here is her story in her own words.

My name is Brooke Christen and I am a home decor blogger. I have a website, Nesting with Grace, and I share home decor ideas.

I share ways that you can create a home, no matter where you live, just by doing simple changes. Even adding a plant to your house, adding window treatments, paint, just small changes can really transfer in your home and I just want to help people love the space they’re in.

Recently, my contacts had started to…like my eyes would always feel dry and I got an infection in my eye. I couldn’t even, like, open it, couldn’t see outside. On my social media, I had said I had an infection and I had so many people tell me, “You should look at getting Lasik,” and Dr. Waite kept coming up. So we made an appointment and went in and saw him and he was awesome. Just so nice, made me feel comfortable.

The day of the surgery was way easier than I thought. I was actually shocked that I could just walk out of the office with sunglasses. In my mind, I was going to be wrapped with gauze. And I just was able to lay down, took, like, maybe an hour nap, and then I was…woke up, was talking to my friend on the phone. I’m like, “Oh my gosh, I can see the TV and my eyes don’t hurt at all.” I was just completely blown away that my eyes didn’t hurt. I thought I’d be in pain for most of the night. I didn’t know how I’d be able to work the next day. So it was really, really amazing how quickly the recovery was for having your eyes done. It was just actually shocking. It was the best decision I made to get corrective eye surgery. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
